Leslie Carter, LENSES Facilitator, CLEAR
Leslie has an extensive background in veterinary critical care and emergency nursing. She has supervised the ICUs of two major university veterinary teaching hospitals (Colorado State and University of Pennsylvania), authored several journal articles and book chapters, and lectured nationally and internationally. A leader in the profession, Leslie has been instrumental in developing specialty certification and advancing the standards of practice in veterinary nursing, receiving several awards for her significant contributions to the field. As a Scientific Program Coordinator for the annual International Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Symposium (IVECCS), Leslie has produced many premier continuing education events.
Leslie’s passion for the natural world and life-long interest in conservation and sustainability have led her to recent study in the areas of conservation biology, biodiversity, open space and natural area management, global environmental sustainability, and environmental conflict management – particularly along the urban-wildland interface. Leslie’s participation in the Urban Lab is motivated by a strong sense of place and the opportunity to collaborate in creating regenerative solutions for growth-related challenges.
